1. Box Breathing

2. 5-4-3-2-1 Senses

  1. Name 5 things you can see
  2. Name 4 things you can touch
  3. Name 3 things you can hear
  4. Name 2 things you can smell
  5. Name 1 thing you can taste

Why it works: Brings awareness back to present moment and physical reality.

3. Physical Grounding

  1. Plant feet firmly on ground
  2. Feel the floor beneath you
  3. Press palms together hard
  4. Hold a cold object (ice, cold water)
  5. Splash cold water on face

Why it works: Strong physical sensations anchor awareness in body.

4. Change Environment

  1. Move to different room
  2. Go outside if safe
  3. Turn on lights if dark
  4. Change music or turn off
  5. Adjust temperature

5. Reassurance Mantras

💊 What to Tell Healthcare Providers

If you need medical help, be honest about what was taken. Doctors cannot legally report you, and accurate information saves lives.

Information to Provide:

  • Substance: "Psilocybin mushrooms" (be specific)
  • Amount: Approximate dose in grams
  • Time: When they were consumed
  • Other substances: Anything else taken in past 24 hours
  • Medications: Any prescribed medications currently taking
  • Symptoms: What symptoms are concerning
  • Medical history: Relevant conditions (heart, mental health, etc.)

⚠️ Dangerous Drug Interactions

DO NOT mix psilocybin with:
• MAOIs (Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors)
• SSRIs/SNRIs (reduce effects, possible serotonin syndrome)
• Lithium (risk of seizures)
• Tramadol (risk of serotonin syndrome)
• St. John's Wort
• Large amounts of alcohol
